Edward, this was such a pleasure to read — not because the subject matter wasn’t serious, and even painful (it was poignant, indeed)— but because it represents an individual adhering to their values, even if it costs them their “identity” (in this case, Christianity). Like you, I abandoned the label of Christianity for a more personal, values-aligned faith that doesn’t require constant intellectual and emotional compromise. Ironically, I think this is exactly what Jesus would have wanted. Thank you for sharing your story with us.
